Bison Cuts

At Thundering Ground Bison Ranch, bison spend their life on pasture and are grass finished which produces a product that is tender and full of flavour. Most importantly it allows the bison to exhibit their natural behaviours and be content.
Animals are processed at a small provincially inspected plant in central Alberta.
All meat is vacuum packed and flash frozen once cut and wrapped to retain its quality.

    In contrast to the packages listed, availability of custom-cut sides is dependent on harvesting schedule.

    My ranch is a small operation and harvesting is a seasonal thing. I typically don’t harvest in the summer months as bison are happy out on pasture at that time and left alone.

Additional Products

  • Bison Robes

    These soft, luxurious robes bring warmth and character into any room. Hides are harvested from young bison at the abattoir in an extremely short and specific time of year to ensure a top quality robe.

    Occasionally there are also robes available from large mature bulls. These robes bring a very different character into a space. They are large, heavy and thick.
